This is a hands-on, standalone HR position supporting more than 80 employees across all dealership departments.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Corporate Financial Controller, the HR Generalist manages the day-to-day HR function and serves as the main point of contact for employees and managers.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 annually

Key Responsibilities · Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employee changes, leaves, and offboarding

· Process semi-monthly payroll, including hours, commissions, bonuses, vacation, final pay, and Records of Employment

· Maintain employee information, personnel files, attendance records, licenses, training, and policy acknowledgements

· Provide day-to-day HR guidance to employees and managers on performance, attendance, discipline, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation

· Support workplace investigations, accommodations, medical leaves, and return-to-work plans

· Administer group benefits, including enrolments, terminations, employee inquiries, and billing reconciliation

· Maintain compliance with Ontario employment, human rights, health and safety, and WSIB requirements

· Coordinate HR policies, Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, employee communications, recognition programs, and staff events

Qualifications

· Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field

· Minimum one (1)



year of progressive HR experience

· Experience processing or coordinating payroll

· Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, WSIB, and workplace health and safety

· Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, benefits, and workplace leaves

· CHRP designation, or progress toward the designation, is an asset

· Automotive, retail, or service-industry experience is an asset

Skills and Competencies

· Robust communication, organization, and time-management skills

· Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee matters

· Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines

· Strong attention to detail and payroll accuracy

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS, and payroll systems

· Experience with Payworks, DRIVE HR, PBS, InFord, or STARS is an asset

· Approachable, practical, and solutions-focused
