- Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices

- Identifies, evaluates, develops and delivers project specific HSE training

- Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects

- Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification

- Leads and conducts project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans

- Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site‑specific security requirements and the environmental plan

- Monitors and audits trade contractor HSE performance

- Participates in on‑site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken

- Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders

- Coaches, trains and mentors HSE Coordinators and other employees

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field

- Holds safety designation

- 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry

- Previous experience in a supervisory role an asset

- Solid understanding of applicable OH&S; and environmental legislation and HSE processes

- Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve

- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

- Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships





- Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminologySolid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology

- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, a Government of Canada security clearance at the Reliability Status level.
