About the Company
Our client is a leading law firm with a sophisticated legal practice and a cooperative, team-oriented environment. They are currently seeking an experienced Immigration Legal Assistant to join their team on a 6-month contract .
This chance is well suited to a highly organized legal support professional who is comfortable working with senior attorneys, managing competing priorities, and providing proactive administrative and practice support.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to lawyers within the immigration practice.
- Draft, format, proofread, and prepare correspondence, legal documents, memoranda, presentations, and other materials.
- Prepare documents and correspondence on behalf of lawyers with minimal direction.
- Manage busy attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and other commitments.
- Coordinate complex meetings, conferences, seminars, travel arrangements, and other events.
- Prepare and update presentations, charts, tables, reports, and other visual materials.
- Respond independently to routine requests for information and coordinate follow-up where required.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files and ensure information is readily accessible.
- Collaborate with lawyers, legal support staff, and other professionals across the firm.
- Assist with additional administrative and practice-related projects as required.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Legal Administration, Secretarial Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Significant experience providing legal secretarial or administrative support within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Experience supporting multiple lawyers or working within a busy practice group.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proofreading, editing, and document preparation abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively anticipate attorney needs.
Compensation
- Salary up to $85,000 annualized salary, pro-rated over the 6-month contract.
- A collaborative and collegial work environment.
- Hybrid remote schedule.
