The Information Technology (IT) Cloud & Vendor Management Services team facilitates enabling of value-add technology solutions to meet corporate and citizens business needs. The team works closely with interested parties across the corporation (Finance, Supply Management, Law, Corporate Security Access and Privacy, internal and external auditors, Industry experts/advisory, others.) and Suppliers (hardware, software services & technology resources/contractors).
As an IT Investment and Vendor Strategist, reporting to the IT Leader Cloud & Vendor Management, you will contribute to IT's vision of creating business value working closely with Supply Management to provide guidance on procurement strategy (Request for X (RFX), Notice of Intent (NOI), etc.) and facilitate enabling solutions and services to meet the technology needs of the business units. Primary duties include:
- Capacity planning, creating,
and maintaining usage data, performance reporting and workload analysis.
- Work with suppliers (software, hardware, resources) to ensure deliverables are in accordance with contract terms.
- Monitor and report for capacity planning (financial and licenses), prepare detailed usage and demand forecast reports.
- Coordinate audit compliance, leverage existing contracts and investments, and negotiate for best value.
- ITIL Supplier Management - vendor performance management through health checks, service level management (service metrics), vendor onboarding and off boarding and escalations.
- Maintain an Industry network and relationships, remain current with Industry trends, develop, and maintain a network of marketing, technical support and management representatives from a wide variety of IT suppliers.
- Perform research and engage Industry advisory services to assist IT divisions to move from business requirements into specific technology acquisitions.
- Partner with divisions in IT and business units to determine appropriate solution/services based on business priorities, advise the business on options, risk, and costs to ensure solutions meet the business needs and add value.
- Prepare technology driven procurement documents including Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and NOI's for various audiences.
Qualifications
- A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology,
Commerce or related with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in technology procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiations, or IT governance; OR
- A completed 2 year diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology, Commerce or a related field, supplemented with at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience as described above.
- Previous experience working in complex scenarios, commercial contracting and/or vendor management is required.
- Extensive technical and business experience with diverse computer technologies will be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong analytical, technical, persuasion, and influencing skills. Applicants must be adept at communicating with a variety of audiences.
- In addition, applicants must clearly be able to demonstrate exceptional relationship, communication, negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to customer service. This would include a demonstrated ability to function in a collaborative and collegial environment; be sensitive to others needs and styles; be innovative, flexible and adaptable, perform with minimal supervision, and have a positive and professional approach to client, corporate interested parties, suppliers and team relations.
