POSITION SUMMARY The Injection Moulding Technician is responsible for maintaining Injection moulding processes and supporting the execution of the production schedule. This includes overseeing component changes, setups, and startups for production. This role is important to the development of new, or modifications to existing, products by collaborating with other departments on equipment capabilities or limitations.

HOURS

Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm *Flexibility required in covering off-shifts as required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include, but not limited to, as follows:

Machine Management

- Set up, change over, and maintain machines materials.
- Ensure machines meet quality standards and production goals.
- Record and optimize moulding parameters.
- Respond to machine alarms.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance

- Troubleshoot and maintain machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, including minor tool and die repairs.
- Support the continuous improvement of moulding processes.

Operational Support

- Prepare and install moulds/inserts.
- Operate overhead cranes for mould changes.
- Communicate effectively with shifts.

Safety and Compliance

- Conduct safety audits for cranes and forklifts.
- Follow load calculation processes.

Quality Assurance and Reporting

- Maintain Quality Assurance standards and identify areas of concern.

Collaboration and Reporting

- Collaborate with R&D;, Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing in the development of new products.
- Assist in modifying procedures when possible.
- Report downtime, process revisions, and maintenance.





Teamwork and Compliance

- Working well independently or as part of a team.
- Operating confidently in a fast-paced workplace, following all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, applicable legislation, regulations, statutes, and departmental policies/procedures/practices and operational guidelines.

Perform other related duties, as assigned, that are in accordance with job responsibilities and/or necessary departmental or corporate objectives.

CORE COMPENTANCIES:

Prerequisites:

- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience in plastic injection moulding manufacturing, material handling and equipment preferred
- Experience in moulds and process design including reading blueprints an asset
- Certified Reach Truck License or work experience an asset (will train/certify).
- Overhead Crane qualified an asset (will train/certify)
- Knowledge of water wells or plumbing products would be an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical Effort: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.





Physical strength and stamina required to handle physically demanding movements like pushing, pulling, bending down and lifting of packages. Lifting 60 lb. boxes may be required occasionally.

Some sedentary work. Requires standing or walking for a long period of time.

Manual dexterity to operate machinery and handle small components for prolonged periods of time.

Physical Environment: Work is conducted indoors in a standard manufacturing environment with fluctuating mid-range temperatures depending on the season.

Sensory Attention: Requires the ability to utilize mathematical skills and the ability to coordinate hand and eyes rapidly and accurately in using equipment.

Safety Protocol:

- Requires wearing steel-toed shoes or boots to prevent injuries.
- Hearing protection is required when working in or moving through all Injection Moulding areas
