About the Role
We are a growing accounting and tax advisory firm serving individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs, and privately held businesses across the GTA, with a significant Chinese-speaking client base. We're looking for a Senior Accountant with Canadian public accounting experience who can independently manage accounting and tax files, communicate confidently with clients, and take ownership of assignments from start to finish — someone who wants to grow beyond compliance work into solid Canadian tax and planning expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare T1 and T2 returns
- Prepare year-end financial statements and working papers
- Handle compilation engagements and corporate accounting files
- Perform account reconciliations and adjusting entries
- Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and tax matters
- Assist with CRA correspondence, notices, and reassessments
Qualifications
Required
- 3 years of experience in a Canadian public accounting / CPA firm
- Hands-on experience with T1 and T2 preparation
- Experience working directly with small and medium-sized business clients
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple files
Preferred
- Experience with TaxCycle, CaseWare and/or QuickBooks
- Strong English communication skills
- Compilation engagement experience
- Chinese language skills (to support our Chinese-speaking client base)
