The salary for this position is $85,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group perks, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Must reside in Fort McMurray)

Position Summary The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels, organizing inventory areas, and supporting daily operations to ensure products, materials, or supplies are available when needed. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, organization, and the ability to follow inventory procedures accurately.

Key Job Expectations An Inventory Specialist is expected to:

- Maintain accurate inventory counts and records.
- Ensure products, supplies, or materials are properly received, stored, and tracked.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, overages, or discrepancies.
- Follow company policies for inventory control, safety, and documentation.
- Keep storage areas clean, organized, and easy to access.
- Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, operations, sales, or management teams.
- Complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Use inventory systems, scanners, spreadsheets, or software as required.
- Protect company assets by reducing loss, damage, waste, or misplacement.
- Communicate inventory issues clearly and promptly.





Main Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Control

- Count, track, and verify inventory on a regular basis.
- Perform cycle counts, physical counts, and inventory audits.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
- Update inventory records in the company system.
- Ensure stock quantities match system records.

Receiving and Stocking

- Receive incoming shipments and verify items against purchase orders, packing slips, or invoices.
- Inspect products or materials for damage, shortages, or incorrect items.
- Label, tag, or barcode inventory as needed.
- Place items in the correct storage locations.
- Rotate stock when required, using FIFO or other company inventory methods.

Organization and Storage

- Keep inventory areas neat, organized, and safe.
- Arrange items for easy access and efficient workflow.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for products or materials.
- Identify slow-moving, expired, damaged, or obsolete inventory.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining warehouse, stockroom, or storage areas.

Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain accurate inventory logs and records.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, shortages, damages, or adjustments.
- Document received goods, transferred items, returns, and removed stock.
- Notify management of low stock, supply concerns, or unusual inventory activity.

Ordering and Replenishment Support

- Monitor stock levels and notify the appropriate person when items need to be reordered.
- Assist with purchase requests or replenishment planning.
- Help prevent overstocking and stockouts.
- Coordinate with vendors, purchasing teams, or internal departments when needed.

Shipping,



Transfers, and Returns

- Prepare inventory for internal transfers, customer orders, or outgoing shipments.
- Verify items before they are moved, shipped, or issued.
- Process returned, damaged, or defective items according to company procedures.
- Track inventory movement between locations or departments.

Safety and Compliance

- Follow all workplace safety procedures.
- Use equipment safely, such as pallet jacks, carts, ladders, or forklifts if certified.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged goods, or inventory hazards.
- Follow company standards for handling sensitive, valuable, or regulated inventory.

Additional Responsibilities

- Use carts, pallet jacks, scanners, ladders, or other inventory equipment.
- Follow proper lifting and safety procedures.

Performance Expectations Success in this position may be measured by:

- Accuracy of inventory counts.
- Timely completion of cycle counts and audits.
- Reduction of inventory discrepancies.
- Proper organization of storage areas.
- Timely reporting of shortages or damaged goods.
