Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):
- Be welcoming to guests in a personable, professional and entertaining manner while understanding the diversity of players.
- Vacuum, sweep and mop floors in all areas and washrooms.
- Clean and sanitize machines, washrooms, windows, tables, chairs and assist with minor maintenance.
- Able to cut grass, trim shrubs, weed gardens, shovel walkways.
- Able to operate leaf blower, pressure washer and other equipment within secure practices.
- Understand inventory levels, and able to work with limited supervision at times.
- Immediately see to potential safety hazards and report as necessary.
- May be asked to fill in as dishwasher in the kitchen as needed.
- Undertake other tasks and housekeeping duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Comply with the Chances Cowichan dress code and other policies and procedures.
- Understand and respond to any customer inquiries, promotions, and any other product or service offered at Chances Cowichan.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must have cleaning experience in public setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to speak courteously in any situation.
- Current WHMIS and Serving It Right certifications will be required.
- Ability to look for and identify areas needing extra attention.
- Able to clean up and sanitize after any spills or other accidental events.
- React quickly and efficiently to incidents that require immediate attention.
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time in a noisy environment.
- Able to follow all gaming industry rules and regulations.
- Able to lift up to 20lbs, be physically fit to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to climb a ladder is an asset.
- Basic computer skills for training and possible cross training in other areas of the facility.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Serving it Right Certificate will be required.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada and live reasonably within commuting distance.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $18.55-$19.55 per hour
