Global Financial Firm located in MISSISSAUGA, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Java Backend Developer

"This role is currently on a Hybrid Schedule.

You will need to have reliable internet, computer and android or iphone for remote access into the client systems during remote work.

We will be expected in the office weekly 3 days depending on the team requirement.

Java Backend Developer (Intermediate Programmer Analyst)

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting backend applications, with a strong focus on Java and microservices. You will contribute to system analysis, programming, troubleshooting, and implementation of solutions in coordination with the technology team.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications using java and related technologies.

- Build and support microservices-based solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability.

- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with business requirements.

- Perform application testing, debugging, and security/vulnerability assessments.

- Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver client-focused solutions.

- Provide technical support, resolve complex issues, and ensure smooth deployments.

- Operate with limited supervision,



exercise independent judgment, and mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.

Qualifications:

- Experience: 1-2 years of backend development experience. Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role

- Business knowledge of Financial Markets, and Back Office function

- Strong Analytical, Problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
