Kaynic Construction is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Journeyman Gas Fitter Class A to join our dynamic team in Grande Prairie, AB. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our oil and gas and industrial operations. This is a full time position, including day and night shifts, offering a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits package after 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

- Safety First: Actively participate in and promote Kaynic’s safety culture, adhering to health and safety programs, policies, and regulations. Complete required safety training and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Maintenance and Repair: Install, inspect, maintain, and repair natural gas and propane equipment including industrial boilers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other trades and team members to enhance safety, efficiency, and production quality in a collaborative team environment.
- Project Support: Assist in planning and executing shutdowns and capital projects, ensuring timely and safe completion.
- Technical Expertise: Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Mentorship: Support and mentor apprentices, contributing to their professional development.

Requirements

- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Gas Fitter Certification Class A.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in heavy industry (e.g., oil and gas, construction, mining, or wood products).




- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gas and boiler systems.
- Solid background in industrial construction, particularly with experience on projects such as sawmills, plywood or OSB mills, pulp and paper mills, wood pellet plants, LVL plants, timber drying kilns, concrete batch plants, modular building factories, or food processing facilities.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
- Comfortable working in outdoor settings, confined spaces, and at heights in all weather conditions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to teamwork.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and tasks.
