Shape science education in Kahnawà:ke as a Curriculum Consultant. Drive curriculum development, implementation and evaluation to uplift the local education system. In this pivotal role, the Science Curriculum Consultant collaborates with the Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) team to create a cohesive curriculum for students from Kindergarten through Grade 11.
Candidates should possess strong curriculum development skills and a commitment to promoting culturally relevant education. The position entails monitoring student success and implementing effective teaching strategies to support educators and students. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive curriculum guides with scope and sequence
- Coach teachers in sound pedagogical practices
- Align curriculum with KEC Tsi Niionkwarihò:ten education program
- Recommend educational resources and materials
- Support assessment tool development and implementation Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Teaching Science or Curriculum Development
- 5+ years teaching experience at elementary or secondary level
- Familiarity with Kanien’kehá:ka teachings is an asset
- Proficient in English; knowledge of Kanien’kéha and French preferred
