Star Dance Centre is a professional dance studio steps from Sheppard-Yonge Subway in North York, offering full-year kids programming for children ages 5 to 15. We are hiring Kids Dance Instructors in Hip Hop, K-Pop, and Ballet/Jazz for our 2026-2027 season starting September 2026. This is a part-time, in-person teaching role.
Instructors are responsible for delivering structured, age-appropriate classes each week, building and refining choreography for our Christmas Showcase and Dance on Yonge year-end festival, tracking individual student progress across the season, and maintaining a positive and professional environment for young dancers at every class.
We teach across four age groups: Star Mini (ages 5-6), Star Junior (ages 7-9), Star Youth (ages 10-13), and Star Teen (ages 13-15).
Experience teaching more than one age group is an asset.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching dance to children - Strong command of at least one of the following styles: Hip Hop, K-Pop, Ballet/Jazz - Ability to build weekly lesson plans and create full showcase choreography independently - Comfortable communicating with parents and coordinating with studio staff regularly - Qualified, reliable, and consistent - students and families depend on the same quality every class - Able to manage a group classroom environment and adapt to different learning needs - Experience in a dance studio, fitness studio, gym, or school setting is a strong asset - Must be able to commute to North York reliably City: North York Job Type: Teaching Pay: Paid Rate: $35- 45 per hour, $45 per hour and above
