Dilawri Group in Ontario is actively seeking a Licensed Automotive Technician to join the opening team at Kia Vaughan.
Pay Range: $36.00–$40.00 flat rate per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Licensed Automotive Service Technician will diagnose, service, and repair customer vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership quality standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to completing repairs safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and industry standards.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, safety, and maintenance concerns.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.
- Review repair orders and complete all assigned work accurately and within established timelines.
- Examine vehicles to determine whether additional safety, maintenance, or repair work is required.
- Clearly document inspection findings, diagnostic results, completed repairs, and recommended work.
- Communicate repair recommendations and technical information to Service Advisors.
- Confirm warranty eligibility and authorization requirements before performing warranty repairs.
- Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer policies and documentation requirements.
- Perform road tests safely and when authorized to confirm concerns and verify completed repairs.
- Properly identify, tag, and store replaced parts for warranty claims or customer requests.
- Maintain current knowledge of Kia vehicles, diagnostic procedures, technical service bulletins, recalls, and emerging automotive technology.
- Complete required manufacturer and dealership training.
- Maintain and properly care for tools, equipment, work bays, and customer vehicles.
- Keep assigned work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and immediately report unsafe conditions.
- Assist and mentor apprentices when required.
- Work collaboratively with Service Advisors, Parts Advisors, and other technicians to support an efficient workflow.
- Perform other duties required to support Service Department operations.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification—310S.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a licensed technician in a rapid-paced automotive environment is preferred.
- Previous dealership experience is considered an asset.
- Kia or other manufacturer-specific training and experience are considered assets.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in using modern diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Knowledge of current automotive technology, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Solid diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to complete work efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to participate in ongoing training.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with at least three years of licensed driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Must provide and maintain the tools required for the position.
