Duties

- Administer vaccinations accurately and safely according to established protocols and medical guidelines
- Assess patient health history and address any concerns prior to vaccination, ensuring informed consent
- Monitor patients post-vaccination for adverse reactions, providing immediate care if necessary
- Maintain detailed and compliant documentation of all vaccination activities using electronic health records systems such IMMS BC
- Educate patients about vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and follow-up care instructions
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate vaccination efforts within clinics, community outreach programs, or mobile units




- Follow infection control procedures diligently to ensure a sterile environment during all vaccination procedures

Skills

- Proven experience in nursing settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, or assisted living facilities with a focus on patient care and medication administration
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory procedures like phlebotomy, and vaccination protocols
- Skilled in using electronic health record systems including IMMS BC for documentation and case management
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, seniors, dementia care residents, hospice patients, and children
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively during post-vaccination monitoring
- Familiarity with acute care practices, pain management techniques, and home care environments enhances your versatility as an LPN
