Lift Operator

- - - POSITION SUMMARY

Assist guests in the safe loading and unloading of Snow Valley’s ski lifts, while ensuring safe and productive operation of equipment. Provide excellent customer service by interacting with all lift passengers.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Maintain a constant flow of guests through the lift line while operating your assigned lift safely & efficiently.

2. Provide guests and staff with courteous and friendly service. Maintain eye contact, answer questions and give physical assistance with loading when needed.

3. Handle all inquiries & complaints in a professional & competent manner applying a win-win attitude. Keep Supervisors informed of guest related problems.

4. Adhere to operational and safety procedures. Perform daily lift start checks and complete daily lift log and incident reports. Keep accurate paperwork and checklists.

5. Perform daily housekeeping duties for the lift huts, establish & maintain ramps, maze area, tools & signs to maintain cleanliness, tidiness & a professional image to our guests.

6. Notify Supervisor of any unsafe conditions, unusual occurrences or irregularities that occur during daily operation. Inform Supervisor if work areas need tools, equipment or any special attention.

7. Strive to continually improve in safety, service and job satisfaction.

8. Generally provide a safe, uncluttered, litter-free environment.

9. Be aware of promotional & special events, school bookings, corporate & group functions in order to help direct guests & staff for these events.

10. Be knowledgeable on the products & services that Snow Valley offers to maintain our Guest Service standards.

Act in a responsible manner while representing Snow Valley, abide by, and adhere to the policies.

12. Perform other responsibilities when required as directed by the Operations Management team.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· This position is seasonal, and includes working on weekends, weeknights & holidays.

· This is an outdoors all weather position - must enjoy working outdoors during inclement weather conditions.

· Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.

· May lift items weighing up to 34 pounds occasionally, may carry, push or pull items weighing up to 24 pounds on an occasional basis.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· There are no standard educational requirements for this position due to the seasonal and part time nature of the position.

· Most training is completed on the job.

· Those who possess post-secondary education have a greater opportunity to advance to a supervisory level.

HEALTH & SAFETY HAZARDS

Identified health & safety hazards associated with this position include: strain from lifting, repetitive motion strain, slipping, tripping and exposure to extreme and varying temperature.
