The Opportunity

Painter’s Bar & Grill is looking for a reliable and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team.

The successful candidate will prepare high-quality meals in a busy restaurant environment while maintaining our standards for presentation, consistency, cleanliness, and food safety. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a professional kitchen team and wants to develop their culinary career.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Set up and maintain an organized workstation before, during, and after service.
- Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and within appropriate service times.
- Follow proper portion-control and food-handling procedures.
- Assist with food preparation, receiving, storage, labelling, and stock rotation.
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate restocking requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
- Follow FoodSafe, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Minimize food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members.
- Assist with banquet and special-event food preparation when required.




- Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Previous line-cook or professional kitchen experience is preferred.
- Culinary education or apprenticeship experience is an asset.
- FoodSafe certification or the ability to obtain it.
- Knowledge of safe food preparation, handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to teamwork.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Availability to work versatile shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
