Position Title: Maintenance, Facilities & Reliability Excellence Lead
Location: Brampton, Ontario (On-Site)
Primary Work Location: Pickering, Ontario (On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Work Location Flexibility: The successful candidate will initially work from the Company's Head Office in Brampton. However, the primary work location may be changed to the Company's Pickering facility or another Company location based on business requirements and operational needs.

Role Description: The Maintenance, Facilities & Reliability Excellence Lead is responsible for providing hands-on leadership and technical expertise to ensure the safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of all manufacturing equipment, facilities, utilities, and supporting infrastructure across the site.
As the champion of Reliability Excellence, Asset Care, Facility Stewardship, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence, this role drives a proactive maintenance culture that maximizes equipment uptime, minimizes operational risk, strengthens GMP compliance, cost effective repairs, and enhances overall business performance. Working collaboratively across Operations, Quality, Validation, Supply Chain, and EHS, the incumbent ensures site assets remain inspection-ready, fit for purpose, and capable of supporting current and future business needs.
The successful candidate is a visible, hands-on leader, technical problem solver, coach, mentor, and change agent with a passion for reliability, compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and champion a culture of Maintenance, Facilities & Reliability Excellence across the organization through hands-on leadership,
technical expertise, and operational engagement.
- Ensure manufacturing equipment, packaging systems, facilities, utilities, and infrastructure consistently operate in a safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient state.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, condition-based, and reliability-centered maintenance programs to maximize asset performance and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Drive equipment reliability and asset care initiatives through data-driven analysis of equipment performance, maintenance effectiveness, failure trends, and operational risk.
- Provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting, root cause investigations, breakdown recovery, and implementation of sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead and facilitate structured problem-solving activities utilizing RCA, CAPA, FMEA, Fishbone Analysis, 5-Why Methodology, and Risk Management principles.
- Ensure all maintenance and facility activities are executed in compliance with GMP, GDP, Data Integrity, EHS requirements, Good Engineering Practices (GEP), and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Provide oversight of critical facility and utility systems including HVAC, purified water systems, compressed air, electrical distribution, emergency power systems, building management systems, chilled water systems, and supporting infrastructure.
- Lead change controls, deviations, investigations, risk assessments, equipment impact assessments, and continuous improvement projects associated with maintenance and facility systems.
- Optimize the use of CMMS module and maintenance planning systems to ensure effective scheduling, resource utilization, asset history management, documentation accuracy, and performance reporting.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to improve equipment availability, process efficiency, production readiness, and operational reliability.
- Manage contractors, service providers, and technical vendors to ensure safe execution, regulatory compliance, quality workmanship, and achievement of project objectives.
- Support capital projects, equipment lifecycle management, commissioning, qualification, validation activities, equipment upgrades, and facility expansion initiatives.
- Drive Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing,
TPM, energy optimization, cost improvement, and productivity enhancement initiatives that deliver measurable business value.
- Build and lead a high-performing maintenance organization comprising millwrights, process mechanics, automation specialists, and contractors, ensuring effective resource allocation, technical excellence, and execution of site maintenance priorities
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, facilities, reliability, engineering, or technical operations within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in equipment reliability, asset management, facility operations, utilities management, troubleshooting, maintenance excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good working knowledge of GMP, FDA, Health Canada, PIC/S requirements, Data Integrity principles, Good Engineering Practices (GEP), and regulatory inspection readiness.
- Proven experience leading preventive maintenance programs, predictive maintenance strategies, root cause investigations, CAPA activities, risk assessments, equipment lifecycle management, and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a visible, hands-on approach to leadership and problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to drive Operational Excellence, Reliability Excellence, Asset Stewardship, compliance, cost optimization, equipment uptime, and sustainable business performance in a fast-paced manufacturing workplace.
