Title: Maintenance Technician (Afternoon Shift)
Group: Maintenance
Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications &
- Skills:
Certification: Must possess a valid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License or equivalent
Red Seal certification.
Experience: Proven experience in an industrial environment is a strong asset.
Technical Knowledge: Pumps, filters, gearboxes and valves.
Computer Skills: Functional computer skills for logging maintenance activities, tracking work orders, and accessing procedures.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Communication: Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.
Driver License: G license required.
Work Environment &
- Availability:
Outdoor Work: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment across various weather conditions.
Schedule: Must be available and willing to work rotating shifts (Morning and Afternoon schedules).
Main Duties &
- Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance Repair: Maintain, troubleshoot and fixing mechanical issues like adjusting, aligning, and repairing power transmission systems, gearboxes, pumps, and fans.
- Welding and pipe fitting: Performing welding, brazing, and soldering, as well as servicing compressed air and water piping systems.
- Rigging, Hoisting and Equipment Installation: Safely moving large, heavy machine components into place using cranes, jacks, and hoists. Install new equipment and piping systems.
- Technical Documentation: Read and follow maintenance procedures for electrical and instrumentation equipment. Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Safety &
- Compliance: Ensure all work strictly complies with Safety Standards and all Applicable Codes. Perform regular housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Collaboration &
- Communication: Work collaboratively with outside contractors and Inspectors. Maintain good working relationships with all coworkers, contractors, and customers,
while regularly communicating and liaising
- with other departments.
- Emergency Calls/Weekend Shifts: Respond to and manage maintenance emergencies to ensure quick and effective resolution of issues, as required.
- Adaptability: Maintain a high level of organization in a fast-paced, fluid environment. Perform other maintenance
- assignments and duties as required (some overtime will be necessary).
