This position has a yearly salary range of $129,315.00 - $161,643.00

Reporting to the Director, Quality, Safety, Strategy, this position is responsible for leading organizational quality, patient safety, risk management, patient and family feedback and engagement, infection prevention and control, and accreditation activities.

The Manager provides leadership, consultation, education and performance monitoring to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centred care across the organization. Working collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders, Medical Staff, staff, patients and community partners, the Manager promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement, risk reduction, accountability, and organizational learning.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

- High level of knowledge about the health system, health care environment as well as the principles and practices of health care delivery and high quality patient care, including legislative and regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of policy development principles, methods and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of program development, analysis/evaluation, reporting/auditing and data collection methods.
- Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective action planning skills.
- Effective project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.




- Knowledge of hospital operations and various health-related disciplines and their role in delivering safe and excellent patient care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a diverse range of audiences, including solid interpersonal, presentation and communications planning skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills such as developing capacity in self and others, fostering collaboration and engagement, demonstrating self-awareness, setting priorities and direction, and taking action to implement decisions.

- Comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous Peoples history, culture, communities and an understanding of First Nations peoples experiences within the healthcare system.

The successful candidate will have regulated healthcare professional registration (e.g., Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist), a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, health administration, public health, social sciences, or a related field, five (5) years’ experience in healthcare, quality improvement/assurance, patient experience, or risk management, and demonstrated experience working directly with patients, families, and caregivers. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered. Graduate education in a health-related field, two (2) to three (3) years of relevant leadership experience, quality assurance, improvement or compliance training (e.g., ISMP Canada, IHI certification, ISO training), a certificate in risk management, project management experience, and patient safety and incident reporting and analysis education or certification would be considered beneficial. Bilingualism in English and French would be considered an asset.
