The forklift operator will use different types of forklifts and manual and electric jigger to move pallets in areas with limited space.
Role and responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation of raw materials according to the scheduling established by the team leader.
- Update the “Factory track” tool for any stock movements or inventory errors (e.g. negatives).
- Communicate any inventory inaccuracies to the Team Leader
- Ensure that all machines/work cells have a continuous flow of raw materials to avoid shortages.
- Ensure that all workstations have sufficient material for palletizing finished parts (wood pallets, foam, cardboard, boxes, packaging containers, etc.).
- Empty internal scrap, cardboard, plastic and wood bins in the appropriate places.
- When handler intervention is necessary, support the disposal of defective parts from all departments
- Operate forklifts, manual or electric pallet trucks and overhead cranes to move materials, taking into account the safety of self and workplace; inspect and maintain on a daily basis.
- Attend training courses to ensure qualifications are maintained, and may be required to train other members of staff
- Support the supply chain team in all other inventory-related initiatives
- If applicable,
support the “Coordinator and Material Receiving” in these tasks when required or in case of absence.
- All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Forklift driving experience (essential)
- Valid forklift training
- Knowledge of the MK system - Asset
- Ability to plan and organize work in accordance with deadlines
- Excellent work organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
