PetroChina Canada is recruiting for a Master Data Analyst to join the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Team in Calgary.

Reporting to the Deputy Director SCM, the Master Data Analyst (MDA) will provide support to the Master Data team to ensure the integrity of Company’s Master Data initiatives. The MDA will be responsible for the creation, validation and maintenance of procurement Master Data inclusive of material masters, service masters, inventory and performance data. Another key responsibility will be analyzing and evaluating data for accuracy, as well as trouble shooting and resolving problems related to procurement master data.

The MDA position is a key component of Materials Management function to deliver standardized, accurate, consistent, robust data in a timely manner for the successful execution of Company operations.

This is a full-time in-office position. Some travel may be required to PCC’s Oils Sands and Shale Gas sites.

Accountabilities:

The accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Master Data Management

- Create and maintain centralized SAP material and service master data records for Company’s projects and operations
- Validate all requests, identifying issues before creation/changes are made in the system




- Provide key-user support for master data queries.
- Meet customer service level demands in a timely manner with consideration to customers in various domestic and third-party locations
- Ensure the highest level of data integrity by adhering to defined standards and guidelines, by continuous monitoring, measurement, sustainment and improvement of Material and Service Master quality
- Maintain data integrity by performing periodic data cleansing activities in collaboration with various commercial and technical functional teams
- Coordinate expansion of MM master data usage in Company’s areas of operation as SAP usage is expanded
- Communicate with and train company staff from various disciplines on the creation and usage of master data

Elements of Materials Management
- This role is very closely associated with the Materials Management function of the Supply Chain organization. MDA shall work very closely with Site Warehouse Supervisor, Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) Planner, O&M; Scheduler and the Buyers to execute the following tasks efficiently:

o Run MRP on daily basis as per the established schedule, validating and amending any MRP Run errors, if any o Confirm accuracy of MRP List against “Reservations” o Work closely with O&M; Planners and Schedulers to ensure conversion of Planned Orders to Purchase Requisitions o Monitor and maintain MRP Attributes diligently.





o Run Inventory Management reports and analyze the inventory data to identify potential overstocking/ stock outs in relation to the performance of master data MRP attributes.

o Ensure that the Category Structure is proactively maintained and all master data management activities are completely aligned with it.

o Ensure that assignment or de-assignment of MRP controls to any recent / returned material is carried out in consultation with Warehouse Supervisor, Buyer and the business unit personnel.

o Maintain proper backup documentation and approvals for such assignment / de-assignment of MRP attributes.

Qualifications:

- A degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management or other related field from a recognized institution
- 3-5 years experience in a Master Data role, with a minimum of three years’ related experience in the oil and gas industry
- SAP experience in the Materials Management module required
- Experience working with material and service master records and warehouse processes will be considered an asset
- Solid skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP
- Superior oral and written skills to communicate with all levels internally and externally
- Demonstrated high level of accuracy and keen attention to details
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, negotiation and problem-solving skills

- Strong project management skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and to embrace ambiguity
- Knowledge of systems used by supply management
- Willingness to continuously learn about oilfield materials, equipment and services
- Knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry as it relates to procurement, contracts, materials management and inventory principles and practices will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of oilfield materials, equipment and services will be considered an asset
