Job Overview

We are seeking a detail oriented, proactive, and results driven Dispatch Supervisor to oversee nightly dispatch and transportation operations. This role will coordinate drivers and freight movements, ensure safe and on time deliveries, and maintain effective communication with drivers, and warehouse cross dock teams.

The Dispatch Supervisor will also oversee timely and accurate loading and unloading of freight, monitor operational performance, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and service levels. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills and thrive in a fast paced transportation environment.

Duties

· Maximize delivery efficiency by planning and optimizing routes to ensure effective use of resources.

· Schedule, dispatch, track, and monitor drivers using GPS and fleet management software while meeting customer requirements.

· Monitor dispatch group emails frequently and respond to customers and team members in a timely and professional manner.

· Create carrier manifests and ensure all load departures meet required cutoff times.

· Determine and coordinate the appropriate equipment, vehicles, and personnel required based on system orders and specifications.

· Maintain accurate records and monitor driver daily logs for errors, violations, and Hours of Service compliance.

· Ensure the safe completion of all required tasks and functions during each shift to support continuous operational flow.

· Manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment and delegate tasks to appropriate team members when necessary.

· Ensure all company security policies and procedures are consistently followed.

· Monitor routes and proactively address issues to maintain on-time performance.

· Plan and coordinate scheduled pickups and deliveries to ensure they are completed on time.

· Adapt effectively to changing operational demands and conditions.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation, health, and safety regulations.





· Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Knowledge of Truckmate software is considered an asset.

· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

· Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
