? We’re Hiring!
We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Network Security Engineer in our Information Technology Department at our Leamington office.
What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures across on-premises, cloud, and OT environments, aligning segmentation, routing, and access control with Nature Fresh's risk posture and business goals.
- Conduct hands-on security assessments of network infrastructure — vulnerability scanning, configuration reviews, and hardening of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems — to identify and remediate weaknesses before they're exploited.
- Monitor network security events, analyze anomalies, and respond to incidents by conducting investigations, coordinating containment, and leading remediation.
- Manage identity and access controls for network devices and infrastructure, enforcing least-privilege access and conducting regular access reviews.
- Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for network changes, infrastructure projects, and OT/industrial control integrations, evaluating impact and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain network security documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, hardening baselines, runbooks, and incident response procedures.
- Automate network security processes where feasible, including configuration audits, vulnerability scans, and compliance reporting, using scripting or orchestration tools.
- Partner with IT, DevOps, and Operations teams, and outside BU to embed security controls into network designs, infrastructure deployments, and system integrations.
- Leverage AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot to accelerate network documentation, audit preparation, and configuration review — including AI-assisted architecture diagrams, security write-ups, and reporting that help stakeholders understand network risk at a glance.
- Stay current on emerging network threats, technologies, and industry best practices; evaluate new tools and recommend adoption where appropriate.
- Support regulatory and compliance efforts related to network security by participating in internal and external audits as required, and promote a culture of security awareness by sharing knowledge with IT and Network peers.
- Foster an environment that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork, and professionalism, while complying with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Farms policies and procedures.
- Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedure
- Complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- This highlights the main components but is not inclusive of other activities that may be required
What You Bring:
- Educational background in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, VPN), with demonstrated specialization into cybersecurity — including hands-on experience conducting security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and hardening.
- Expert working knowledge of networking technologies — TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, VPN, and SD-WAN — along with security frameworks, standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Expert knowledge of enterprise-level security tools, including network defense solutions (e.g., Fortinet), identity and access management platforms, and vulnerability scanning and monitoring tools.
- Solid working knowledge of OT communication protocols and cybersecurity practices within industrial control environments considered an asset.
- Solid working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and orchestration tasks.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with demonstrated ability to lead hands-on security assessments and drive remediation to completion.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Robust ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt within a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA/CCNP,
Security+, CISSP, GIAC, or similar network and security credentials).
- Ability to lift and carry items minimum 20 lbs, depending on role requirements.
- Valid passport and ability to travel within Canada and US
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required.
What To Expect:
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with occasional travel to other NFF locations as needed (approximately 5–10%).
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use are required.
- Requires regular communication and coordination with team members across departments.
- Standard workdays are Monday-Friday, with rotational on-call require. Afterhours and weekends based on business needs.
