Tutor Prime is currently seeking a knowledgeable and reliable Biology 20 tutor to provide one-to-one, primarily in-home tutoring to high school students in Calgary.

About the Role The successful tutor will work individually with students taking Alberta Biology 20, helping them understand course concepts, complete assignments, prepare for quizzes and exams, and develop effective study strategies.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of the Alberta Biology 20 curriculum and be comfortable explaining biological concepts clearly at the high-school level.

Responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one in-home Biology 20 tutoring
- Support students with Biology 20 coursework, assignments and homework
- Review and explain difficult biological concepts
- Help students prepare for quizzes, unit exams and final exams
- Identify areas where students need additional support
- Adapt explanations and teaching methods to individual learning needs
- Help students develop effective study and test-taking strategies
- Maintain a reliable weekly tutoring schedule
- Complete required tutoring session reports
- Communicate professionally with students, parents and Tutor Prime

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Biology 20
- Familiarity with the Alberta high school Biology 20 curriculum




- University-level studies in Biology, Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Education or a closely related fieldpreferred
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an asset
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Reliable and professional
- Vehicle and reliable transportation required for in-home assignments
- Current criminal background check required

University students, graduate students, Education students, teachers, experienced tutors and professionals with a robust biology background are encouraged to apply.

This position is primarily for in-home tutoring in Calgary. Assignments may be available in:

NW Calgary | NE Calgary | SW Calgary | SE Calgary

Tutors may accept assignments based on their location, availability and preferred travel areas.

Compensation

$23–$35 per hour, depending on education, tutoring/teaching experience, qualifications and subject expertise.
