Empower individual growth as a One-on-One Child Support Worker in the shíshálh Nation Child Care Program. Provide essential support and guidance tailored to meet each child's unique needs. This position focuses on delivering personalized care that ensures the child's emotional, physical, and cultural well-being. By collaborating closely with parents, educators, and support services, you will create individualized care plans that foster the child's development and success.
Your role will integrate cultural teachings, enhancing the child’s identity and sense of belonging within the community. Key Responsibilities:
- Help the child integrate into the classroom program
- Develop effective strategies and interventions
- Build a loving and respectful relationship with the child
- Advocate for the child’s specific needs
- Facilitate small social skills and self-esteem groups
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex behaviors
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; Class 4 an asset
- Criminal Record Check clearance required
- Familiarity with BC Child Care Licensing Regulation
- Valid Level 1 First Aid certification within first 3 months
