Salesforce has an internal continuous integration and test cloud of over 40,000 virtual machines, spread across Private (Openstack) and Public (AWS, GCP) clouds, that builds every check-in, runs hundreds of thousands of tests against it and bugs the test failures. The quality of our product and the productivity of the rest of our R&D; organization are dependent on this framework. Looking for a DevOps Engineer working 40hrs/week during Pacific time zone that can help onboard current services to this platform and migrate it to Public Cloud (AWS & GCP).

The contract is for an initial period of 6 months that can be extended upto 2 years, based on performance. There is a possibility for this role to turn into a Full-time position with Salesforce, for a high performing candidate.

Important points to take note of

- We equip Developers with tailored CI Build Jobs and Release branches to test new features and bug fixes and promote them to production. We ensure the CI environment is scalable, secure, and highly available by planning, testing and deploying features, capacity and security patches in the production CI system. We also design and develop self-service tools for customers and Site Reliability Engineers (SRE).

- Skills beyond being an excellent in object oriented programming: Top 3-5 skill sets

1. 5+ years of experience in designing & implementing internal data centers and Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) environments.

Experience with elastically scalable, fault tolerance and other cloud architecture patterns.

2.



Experience in migrating workloads with zero downtime from on-prem data centers to public cloud

3. Deep knowledge with continuous integration, deployment and IAC tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible in 24x7 Production Services environments.

4. Techstack - Jenkins, Terraform, AWS or GCP Cloud skills, OS - CentOS/Linux, Logging - Splunk or any other tools, Automation - Python, Full Stack - Angular/React, NodeJS, Any RDBMS

- What will the Interview process look like?

- We will have 3 rounds - 2 Tech rounds

W/ 2 colleagues and 1 Leadership round w/ manager

Responsibilities:

- Onboard new services into production by working with development team to plan and execute the steps.

- Plan and execute migrating services from 1st party to Public cloud (AWS & GCP).

- Work with partner teams to roll out new features and debug issues in a production environment.

- Create Self Service Tools for reducing Toil and improving the customer experience.

- Plan and execute on maintenance activities and internal software deployments.

- Write technical documentation that can be used across teams.

Requirements – Must have Skills:

1. 3+ yrs experience working on DevOps tools like Terraform, GCP/AWS, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.

2. Experience automating repetitive tasks using Python, and scripting languages (Python, Shell Scripting etc).

3. Experience in MLOps are preferred.

4. BS in computer science or similar engineering field.
