Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000 per year (salary commensurate with experience)

Agueci Calabretta is a boutique law firm focused on debtor/creditor law with an emphasis on mortgage and debt enforcement for financial institutions.
What We Are Looking For:
Our firm acts for financial institutions and commercial creditor clients across Ontario, with a focus on unsecured debt recovery, credit card and loan collections, judgment enforcement, and related civil litigation. We are seeking a Paralegal to join our Unsecured Debt Enforcement team to support a high-volume caseload involving matters before the Small Claims Court and Superior Court of Justice.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare motions and supporting affidavits for substituted service, for an assessment of damages and to strike defences (Rule 12.02);
- Prepare, file and serve garnishment documentation, including Notices of Garnishment and related correspondence to garnishees (employers, financial institutions and other third parties);
- Liaise with court offices, sheriffs and enforcement offices across Ontario;
- Correspond with debtors, opposing counsel and licensed insolvency trustees where a consumer proposal or bankruptcy affects enforcement;
- Maintain accurate file records and status tracking across a high-volume docket;
- Support lawyers with file preparation, deadline management and client reporting; and
- Attend occasional Court hearings.
Skills:
- Paralegal diploma from an accredited institution; licensed with the Law Society of Ontario (P1) or eligible for licensing
- Experience in civil litigation, collections or enforcement strongly preferred;
- Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, Small Claims Court Rules and enforcement mechanisms under the Execution Act and Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act considered an asset;
- Strong written communication and drafting skills; and
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage a high-volume, deadline-driven caseload.
