Cochrane Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy located about 20 minutes NW of Calgary. Looking for a part-time pharmacist to join our team. Mainly weekday shifts from 9-6. Amount of shifts and days worked are flexible and can be discussed.
Wage negotiable based on experience. Position starts July 1, 2026 and may start earlier or later depending on the candidate. Pharmacy clients are regular customers and mainly 50+. They value a pharmacist that they can build a relationship, knowledgeable and whom they can trust.
No medical clinic adjoining and small front store. Ideal candidate is comfortable talking with people. Knowledge of third party adjudication like MAC and special authorization procedures. Ability to problem solve whether that be with customers or with 3rd party insurance.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while adhering to all legal and safety regulations
- Provide expert consultation on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions to patients and healthcare providers
- Monitor patient medication therapies for effectiveness and safety, making recommendations as needed
- Maintain detailed and accurate pharmacy records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans involving medication management
- Educate patients on proper medication administration, storage, and disposal
- Ensure the pharmacy workplace complies with health and safety standards, including infection control protocols
- Stay current with new medications, industry regulations, and advancements in pharmacy practice
Requirements
- Valid Pharmacist license with Alberta College of Pharmacist and in good standing
- Injection certification required
- Kroll software proficiency
- APA not required but must be comfortable in extending/adapting prescriptions
