Role Description The (PhD) Clinical Cognitive Research Scientist – Mild Cognitive Impairment & Digital Neurofunctional role is a contract, hybrid position located in Mississauga, ON at our Brainfx.com office , with flexibility for partial work from home. In this role, the scientist will design and implement clinical research studies focused on mild cognitive impairment and digital neurofunctional assessments, ensuring scientific rigor and clinical relevance. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and refining study protocols, collaborating with cross-functional teams on digital assessment tools, and overseeing data collection and analysis.

The scientist will prepare documentation for regulatory submissions, contribute to regulatory strategy discussions, and ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and ethical standards. The role also involves interpreting research findings, producing scientific reports and publications, and providing expert insight to support product development and clinical validation efforts.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in clinical study design and protocol development for cognitive or neurofunctional research.




- Experience with regulatory affairs and regulatory submissions in clinical or medical research environments.
- Strong research skills, including hypothesis formulation, methodology selection, data analysis, and interpretation.
- PhD in neuroscience, clinical psychology, cognitive science, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Background in mild cognitive impairment, neurodegenerative conditions, or digital cognitive assessment tools is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of ethical and compliance standards for human-subject research, including familiarity with relevant guidelines and frameworks.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and research software commonly used in clinical and cognitive science research.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid workplace and manage multiple projects.
- Prior experience working with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., clinicians, data scientists, product teams) is an asset.
