An exciting opportunity as a Temporary Full-Time, Physiotherapist.

Type: Replacement Duration: 12 months Summary of Duties but not limited to: Responsible for pre-operative physiotherapy assessments for patients undergoing same-day total hip and total knee surgery.

Responsible for post-operative mobilization and education for patients undergoing same-day total hip and total knee surgery

Responsible for the assessment and creation of long and short-term treatment plans for chronic pain patients.

Provide both individual one-on-one physiotherapy sessions, delivered in person and virtually, as well as group-based exercise and rehabilitation programming.

Participate in and facilitate group-based programming, including therapeutic exercise and active rehabilitation.

Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the College of Physiotherapists.

Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, and client progress.

Provide Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE) and support patients in developing an understanding of persistent pain and strategies for managing symptoms.

Perform pelvic health assessments and interventions, on all individuals (male, female, trans and gender diverse) including internal pelvic examinations where clinically indicated.

Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed.

Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.

Provides education to team members on discipline-specific clinical care.

Assists with program development activities, including liaising with interprofessional team members and partner sites as required.

Actively participates in program research activities, as required.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent required

Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

Actively rostered for the controlled act of performing internal pelvic examinations, in accordance with the requirements of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

Clinical experience working with chronic pain, with experience in chronic pelvic pain and/or pelvic health physiotherapy strongly preferred.

Completion of Pelvic Health Solutions Level 1, 2 and 3, or equivalent pelvic health education and training, preferred.

Experience with pelvic floor assessment and treatment is an asset.

Ability to provide care effectively in both in-person and virtual formats.

Experience working in an inter-professional team in a hospital setting preferred.

Experience working in a functional pain program including the utilization of physical and psychosocial interventions preferred

Experience delivering group-based exercise programming and/or chronic pain rehabilitation is preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated effectiveness as an interdisciplinary team member.

Demonstrated problem solving skills, positive judgement and flexibility.

TAPMI is a designated French Language Program, written and spoken French is an asset

Proven attendance and punctuality.

Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
