Role Description This is a full-time, on-site PLC Programmer role based in Burlington, ON. The PLC Programmer will design, program, test, and commission PLC-based control systems for automation, material handling, and robotic integration projects. Daily responsibilities include developing control logic and HMI screens, troubleshooting existing programs, modifying code to meet new process requirements, and ensuring systems meet safety and performance standards.

The role involves working with electrical and mechanical teams, reading and interpreting schematics and layout drawings, and providing in office support during installation, start-up, and customer handover. The PLC Programmer will also document programs, maintain revision control,



and support ongoing improvements to automation solutions.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong PLC programming skills (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens or similar), including ladder logic, structured text, and function block development.
- Candidates should possess experience with HMI/SCADA configuration and integration, including screen design, user interfaces, and data acquisition.
- Candidates should possess skills in industrial automation and robotics integration, including motion control, I/O configuration, and interfacing with drives and robot controllers.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in reading electrical schematics and system drawings, and collaborating with electrical and mechanical teams on system design.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in system testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics, including commissioning equipment on-site and resolving control-related issues.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work safely in an industrial environment and interact professionally with customers.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in industrial controls will be considered.
- Experience in automotive or general manufacturing environments, familiarity with safety standards and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.), and willingness to work occasional overtime or travel to customer sites are beneficial.
