The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking an Early Childhood Educator for our preschool program. The position is for the 2026-27 academic year, starting in August 2026. The work must be completed in office. There is no option to work remotely.

Tasks/Responsibilities

- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Storytelling
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
- Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods




- Knowledge of licensing regulations
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

The ideal candidate has an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, their First Aid Certificate, and at least 5 years of experience working in childcare. The candidate should also be experienced with/interested in Waldorf Education.

Hourly pay range: $25-$29/hr, 40 hrs per week
