Position Summary The Quality Specialist I is responsible for ensuring compliance with working drawings, specifications, processes, standards and best practices.
Position Responsibilities
- Observe and document in-process and finished product at various stages of production to identify defects or issues.
- Conduct audits or inspections to identify non-conformance and report findings to supervisor.
- Calibrate and maintain test equipment.
- Address issues to ensure quality standards are upheld.
- Assist with training of team members on quality processes.
- Make recommendations for improving production process techniques to ensure high-quality output.
- Build a positive rapport with employees at all levels of the organization; communicate with team members to solve problems.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its core values, and other associates while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in related field; equivalent experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
- Proven work experience in quality assurance or similar field.
- Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
- Lead by example to include solid work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, can do attitude, great attendance, and excellent quality & safety awareness.
- Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Commitment to the concept of continual improvement, effective quality management systems and safe work practices.
- Understanding the production and work order process.
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Physical fitness and strength to regularly lift 30-50 lbs.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, crouch and reach.
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.
- May require travel up to 20%.
