Nephrology This position may be scheduled at any of the following sites: Job Type: Regular, Full time Contract Duration: (If applicable) 0 months Union: ONA Local 75 Hourly Rate (Min / Max): $41.15 - $58.98 Schedule Work Days: Monday to Sunday Time of Day: Days, Nights Shift: Shift Start: (If applicable) Reason for Posting: Posting is for a role with an existing vacancy Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a regulated health care skilled who adheres to and role models the Standards and Guidelines of the College of Nurses of Ontario; the SJHH mission vision and values policies and procedures; The RN provides patient/client-centred and evidence-informed care to promote health and assess the need for the provision of care and the treatment of health conditions by supportive preventative therapeutic palliative and rehabilitation means in order to attain or maintain optimal patient/client function. The RN collaborates with the inter-professional team and assumes a leadership role in delivering a full range of care and treatment to patients/clients including those with complex needs high acuity and less predictable outcomes.
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required Previous general medical/surgical nursing experience Previous experience in nephrology urology peritoneal or hemodialysis or transplant nursing will be given preference Central line management is an asset Telemetry training preferred Demonstrated knowledge sensitivity and expertise in the care of seniors and their families Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred Experience in total patient care is an asset Commitment to the use of the nursing process and individualized care plans Willingness and ability to work the shifts as required in order to meet the needs of the unit for pre-booked and relief tours A resume regarding further education special courses and experience should accompany the application The successful applicant to this position will be cross trained in order to also be able to provide shift coverage to the established sister unit – Renal Transplant Unit.
