A Resident Care Worker is ready, willing and able to sincerely care for, properly assist and genuinely support our residents and realizes that the fulfillment and satisfaction that comes with helping others far surpasses the challenges of the job Essential skills include, but are not limited to:

- Effectively speak to and work with residents of all ages and backgrounds
- Talk with residents and family members and make detailed notes in resident documents

- Manage many different tasks while maintaining focus on the residents

- Assess and evaluate resident conditions and determine whether they’ve experienced any significant changes in health, mental state, or behavior

Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Personal Care
- Help residents maintain good personal hygiene, provide emotional and psychological support
- Medication Administration
- Dispense medications,



administer treatments and assist with exercise routines as prescribed by a physician
- Resident Charts
- Document daily interaction with residents, noting any changes in physical, mental, and emotional condition / behavior and immediately report any concerning changes to management
- Social Activities
- Encourage physical activity, mental alertness and social involvement by planning and participating in activities such as playing games, taking walks, or having conversations
- Emergency Management
- Document and inform management of minor incidents and significant events, act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency and provide medical treatments and care in cases of emergency

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Cleaning Day and Night (in the absence of a Community Care Cleaner)

Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Ensure supply of sufficient cleaning products at all times
- Understand and abide by health and safety regulations
- Sound knowledge of chemicals and methods used in cleaning
- Responsible for the facility being clean and meeting all safety requirements
- Adhere to daily, weekly, monthly,



yearly deep cleaning schedule to ensure facility is always at its maximum cleanliness
- Proper storage, handling, cleaning and security of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Clean and sanitize all relevant surfaces, special attention to bathrooms
- Sweep, vacuum and mop the floor
- Empty trash, recycling, and compost
- Wash windows and glass, inside and outside when required.
- Dust and clean walls, ceilings, light fixtures, wall hangings, tables, chairs, etc.
- Laundry duties at minimum on a weekly basis and more often as needed
- Prepare breakfast, lunch and supper based on number of residents with attention to portions to avoid waste
- Prepare beverages and snacks such as fruit, biscuits, crackers, tea, coffee, etc. at scheduled times, typically at 10AM and 2PM
- Dietary
- Read and understand dietary instructions as outlined by physicians and / or dietitians

Cooking Day and Night (in the absence of a Community Care Cook)

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Storage
- Store food in designated containers and areas to prevent spoilage when not in use
- Monitor and record the temperature of food and food storage areas and take action as needed
- Preparation
- Read and understand the menu ahead of schedule
- Production
- Serving
- Set and explicit tables in the dining room
- Cleaning
- Perform routine cleaning in kitchen and dining room
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes before, during and after cooking

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
