Position Details Job Number: JR01844 Department: Respiratory Therapy Job Type: Regular, Part time Work Environment: In-Person Contract Duration: (If applicable) 0 months Number of Positions: 1 Hourly Rate (Min / Max): $47.4658 - $55.026 Schedule Work Days: Monday to Friday Time of Day: Days Shift: Hours - 7.5 Shift Start: (If applicable) Reason for Posting: Posting is for a role with an existing vacancy Application Dates Opening Date: 2026-09-08 Closing Date: 2026-09-15 Position Summary: The Professional Practice Leader for Respiratory Therapy provides expert, evidence-informed leadership to support clinical excellence across Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Technology, and Anaesthesia Assistant practice. This role advances knowledge translation through education, coaching, mentorship, and just-in-time learning at the point of care.

The Professional Practice

Leader serves as a clinical resource for staff, students, and interprofessional learners while promoting best practice in patient care, education, and research. In partnership with the Clinical Manager, this role supports Respiratory Therapy priorities, quality initiatives, and broader hospital-wide practice improvements.

Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized Respiratory Therapy program and registered in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario. Minimum three to five years of recent clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with demonstrated expertise in respiratory care.

Community

College three-year diploma in Respiratory Therapy required. Bachelor of Science preferred. Master's degree in Science, Education, Health Administration, or a related field preferred. Current certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required.

Membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists or the Respiratory Therapists Society of Ontario preferred.



Demonstrated excellence in teaching, adult learning, facilitation, coaching, mentorship, and staff development. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence practice, build collaborative relationships, support knowledge translation, and promote evidence-informed care.

Innovative and solution-focused, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and support practical changes in clinical practice and education. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, critical-thinking, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team.

Proficiency with information technology and electronic documentation systems. Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity, and expertise in supporting seniors and their families.
