- Canada Post is looking for reliable people to join its Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier team on an on-call relief basis.

- You’ll quite a bit find yourself running solo, so just keep a solid grip on the local delivery areas.
- You have to make sure the mail stays locked down securely, yet somehow still handle a dependent postal service for customers.

Responsibilities - Sort, collect, and deliver mail safely, and reasonably quickly.





- Learn and keep knowledge of local roads, customers, and the delivery routes.
- Keep the mail secure while it’s in your care or possession.
- Process Canada Post products and services like Change of Address notifications and mail that’s been damaged.
- Make sure you wear your Canada Post identification when you’re out there doing deliveries, like don’t leave it behind or anything.
- You will be lifting and carrying mail and packages up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) , and honestly it can feel heavier than it looks.
- Also drive carefully through all sorts of weather, traffic, and route situations, because things can change fast.

Requirements - Valid permanent Class 5 or G driver’s licence, and a driving record that’s satisfactory.

- Own a vehicle with at least 100 cu ft (2,832 litres) of cargo space.
- The vehicle must have a metal roof, an accessory power outlet, and it’s preferred that it’s a hatchback or has a fifth door.
- Maintain the required automobile liability insurance, and tell your insurer that you’ll use the vehicle for Canada Post.
- Ability to work independently, and still meet the delivery deadlines.
- Finish the interview process successfully.
- Provide a current resume, plus a driver’s abstract dated within the last 30 days.
