We are currently seeking candidates for the fixed term contract position (approximately 18-months) of Safety and Compliance Coordinator in our Kingsville Corporate Office.

The Safety and Compliance Coordinator, under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources, will be responsible for ensuring Red Sun Farms adheres to legal standards, Health & Safety regulations, and internal policies across Canada. This role is key in implementing and evaluating safety programs, conducting workplace inspections, and supporting ESG initiatives. This position monitors regulatory compliance, provides health and safety training, and helps manage audits and reporting, fostering a proactive safety culture across the company.

Main Responsibilities

- Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating the health & safety management system and safety initiatives
- Stays updated on OHSA and regulations, as well as industry best practices and makes recommendations for implementation
- Ensures compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations
- Leads and coordinates the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) by managing meetings and ensuring issues and concerns are addressed in a timely manner
- Conducts regular workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards




- Assists in overall ESG development, implementation and maintenance as needed
- Facilitates WSIB reporting and claims management, as well as the return-to-work program facilitation
- Supports the implementation of safety programs
- Recommends corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risks
- Monitors the effectiveness of hazard controls and make recommendations to adjust strategies as needed
- Assists with vendor performance and compliance audits and reviews
- Coordinates and deliver health & safety training sessions, including orientation for employees and management; maintain training matrix
- Develops and maintains training materials and maintain training records
- Maintains safety records and documentation as required by law
- Develops and conduct and/or distribute safety talks to all employees
- Maintains employee health and safety handbooks
- Participates in the timely completion of event reporting and investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions
- Maintains emergency response plan; ensures drills and exercises are performed as required
- Assists with preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
- Assists in preparing for external audits and regulatory inspections
- Responds to general questions or concerns related to health & safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Diploma in related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3-5+ years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety




- Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable regulations
- Solid organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

Working Conditions

- Work in a busy office environment and temperature controlled warehouse with frequent interruptions
- Interactions with customers, employees, and management
- Lifting or moving up to 15lbs may be required
- Sitting and standing for an extended amount of time may be required
- May be required to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on deadlines

Compensation & Benefits This position offers an annual salary range of $55,680.00 - $69,600.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, Red Sun Farms provides a comprehensive total rewards package, including health benefits, defined contribution pension plan, paid sick days, and other company-sponsored programs.
