Description A career as a Senior Advisor in quality control for Capital Markets client due diligence reviews at National Bank of Canada means acting as a subject matter expert in quality control and regulatory compliance. In this role, you help ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of client onboarding and periodic review activities for institutional Capital Markets clients. Your expertise in AML/KYC, regulatory reviews, risk assessment, and quality assurance will have a direct impact on operational excellence and risk management.
Your role
- Ensure the quality, completeness, and regulatory compliance of client due diligence files related to onboarding and periodic reviews, including anti-money laundering requirements, know-your-client obligations, sanctions screening, and other applicable regulations.
- Identify gaps, deficiencies, and non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions to strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze complex client structures and high-risk situations to validate the quality and accuracy of assessments and supporting documentation.
- Support internal stakeholders by providing guidance, feedback, and expertise on quality standards, regulatory expectations, and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures, controls, tools, and quality assurance frameworks to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and business partners during audits, reviews, and transformation initiatives.

Within the Counterparty Documentation Centre, you are part of a multidisciplinary team and report to the Senior Director, Counterparty Documentation Centre.

Requirements
- Hold a university degree in finance, business administration, accounting, law, or a related field.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in AML/KYC, due diligence reviews, quality control, or regulatory compliance within the banking or Capital Markets sector.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions and institutional Capital Markets clients.
- Have experience assessing complex legal entities, ownership structures, and higher-risk client files.
- Possess strong analytical, investigation, and reporting skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office and client lifecycle management or documentation tools.
Languages: French,
English Reason to require this language: you will need to work closely with our colleagues outside Quebec.
