About the Role

McKesson is seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture & Digital Experience to lead architecture strategy across solution architecture, application architecture, legacy solution modernization, and digital experience management. This leader will set the vision for modern, scalable, secure, and customer-centered technology solutions that support enterprise priorities and improve business outcomes.

In this role, you will lead architecture practices that connect business strategy to technology execution. You will partner with senior leaders, product, engineering, security, operations, and business stakeholders to modernize platforms, simplify legacy environments, guide digital experience strategy, and strengthen architecture governance. You will also develop leaders, influence enterprise decisions, and help teams deliver high-impact technology solutions in a complex, regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

- Lead the enterprise architecture practice across solution architecture, application architecture, modernization, and digital experience management.
- Define architecture standards, roadmaps, governance models, and decision frameworks that enable scalable and secure technology delivery.
- Partner with executive and senior business leaders to align architecture strategy with business objectives, customer needs, and enterprise priorities.
- Lead legacy application and platform modernization strategies, including rationalization, cloud migration, integration, automation, and technical debt reduction.
- Guide digital experience architecture to improve usability, accessibility, performance, reliability, and end-to-end customer and employee journeys.
- Advise teams on up-to-date architecture patterns, including APIs, microservices, cloud-native platforms, data integration, identity, security, and observability.
- Oversee architecture portfolio planning, vendor strategy,



investment recommendations, and measurable value delivery.
- Build and develop architecture leaders and teams through coaching, talent planning, performance management, and inclusive leadership practices.

Basic Requirements

- 13+ years of professional technology experience, including 6+ years of leadership experience in architecture, engineering, application delivery, digital platforms, or technology transformation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading enterprise, solution, or application architecture across large-scale technology environments.
- Lead the design and modernization of enterprise solution architectures, leveraging AI-enabled platforms and emerging technologies to drive innovation, scalability, and business value.
- Experience developing architecture strategy, roadmaps, standards, governance, and executive-level recommendations.
- Experience leading modernization of legacy applications, platforms, or digital capabilities.
- Experience managing leaders, architecture teams, or cross-functional technology teams.
- Experience partnering with senior business and technology stakeholders to influence strategy and delivery.
- Experience with budget planning, vendor management, portfolio prioritization, or technology investment decisions.

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Experience with cloud platforms, API strategy, microservices, event-driven architecture, DevSecOps, or platform engineering.




- Experience with digital experience management, customer experience platforms, portals, mobile/web applications, or omnichannel solutions.
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution, supply chain, retail, or other regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks, architecture review boards, capability modeling, or application portfolio management.
- Experience leading large-scale transformation programs across multiple teams, functions, or business units.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technology decisions for business audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance, reduce technical debt, and increase speed-to-market.
- Leadership approach aligned to collaboration, strategic insight, change leadership, customer focus, and talent development.

Description of Travel or In-Office and Physical Requirements

- Work model may be remote, hybrid, or office-based depending on business and team needs.
- Occasional travel may be required for leadership meetings, planning sessions, vendor engagements, or team collaboration.
- Role requires regular use of a computer and participation in virtual and in-person meetings.
