Global Financial Firm located in MISSISSAUGA, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer

"This role is currently on a Hybrid Schedule.

You will need to have reliable internet, computer and android or iphone for remote access into the client systems during remote work.

We will be expected in the office weekly 3 days depending on the team requirement.

Senior Java Backend Developer (Senior Programmer Analyst)

Sr Java backend developer is responsible to lead the design and development of backend systems and microservices. Role requires strong technical expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices, with the ability to design scalable, high-performance solutions. The ideal candidate will also bring experience with broader database, integration, and cloud technologies, while mentoring junior developers and collaborating with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and development of backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.

- Develop high-performance, secure, and scalable application components.

- Collaborate with product Owners, architects, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.

- Ensure best practices in software design, code reviews, testing, and security.

- Implement and optimize database solutions using SQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.

- Build and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.

- Leverage messaging systems (Kafka, MQ) and cloud-native platforms (ECS, Kubernetes,



OpenShift) to enable distributed solutions.

- Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement robust fixes.

- Mentor junior developers, guiding them in technical execution and skilled growth.

Qualifications:

- Experience: 6+ years of backend development experience.

- Strong experience in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices.

- Hands on experience with databases, SQL, Oracle, MongoDB

- Exposure to messaging systems (Kafka, MQ), and cloud environments (ECS, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and CI/CD automation pipelines.

- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC best practices.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

- Experience with banking and financial services is a strong plus.
