Senior Project Manager – Regulatory Remediation (Federal Reserve / MRA & MRIA)
Location: Downtown Core (Hybrid: 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote)
Contract Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension
About the Opportunity A premier, global financial services organization is seeking an elite Senior Project Manager – Regulatory Remediation to lead a high-visibility, high-impact initiative within its downtown hub.
This role goes beyond traditional delivery; it requires an authoritative project leader with deep functional expertise in Federal Reserve supervisory remediation (MRAs/MRIAs) . You will be the central force driving complex regulatory commitments from initial action planning through rigorous control testing, all Lines of Defence validation, and ultimate regulatory closure.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Delivery: Drive the full lifecycle of Federal Reserve MRA and MRIA remediation—translating supervisory findings into structured action plans, milestones, target operating controls, and explicit closure criteria.
- Control Testing & 2LOD Handoff: Manage pre-validation control testing activities, identifying control design and operating effectiveness gaps early to ensure high-maturity remediation packages before formal transfer to 2nd Line of Defence (2LOD).
- Readiness Assessments: Lead strict remediation-readiness evaluations to ensure all corrective actions, control evidence, and documentation withstand independent challenge and scrutiny.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Mobilize and align multidisciplinary teams across Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to deliver against aggressive regulatory deadlines.
- Governance & Escalation: Maintain robust program governance (RAID management, end-to-end traceability, dependency mapping, and paths to green) and deliver executive-level status reporting to steering committees and risk control boards.
- Multi-Line Defence Collaboration: Partner closely with 1st Line control owners, 2nd Line Risk,
3rd Line Internal Audit, and external regulatory-facing teams to resolve complex challenges and track findings to sustainable closure.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Direct Federal Reserve Remediation (Mandatory): Hands-on experience delivering and closing Federal Reserve supervisory findings, specifically Matters Requiring Attention (MRAs) and Matters Requiring Immediate Attention (MRIAs) .
- Financial Services Expertise: Demonstrated success leading large-scale regulatory remediation programs within a major bank or highly regulated global financial institution.
- Remediation Lifecycle Mastery: Deep, end-to-end knowledge of the remediation path from Regulatory Finding until Regulatory Submission/Closure.
- Control & Evidence Assessment: Proven capability to critically evaluate control design, operational effectiveness testing, and regulatory evidence packages to ensure completeness and sustainability.
- Cross-Line Navigation: Expertise navigating the complexities between 1LOD execution, 2LOD oversight, 3LOD audit, and independent assurance functions.
- Executive Presence: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex control/regulatory matters and interface directly with senior executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior exposure to technology risk, cybersecurity, operational risk, or consent-order remediation environments.
- Deep knowledge of control testing methodologies, design effectiveness (DE) / operating effectiveness (OE) frameworks, and evidence gathering standards.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, CRISC, or CISA are robust assets.
