Location: 120 Milani Blvd., Woodbridge (Vaughan), Ontario – On-site

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year

About ITN Food Corporation

ITN Food Corporation is a Canadian food manufacturer, importer, and distributor with more than 30 years of experience serving customers across Canada.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Warehouse Supervisor with strong floor leadership, team-management, and workplace-safety experience to support the leadership of our Woodbridge warehouse operation.

This is a hands-on, warehouse-floor leadership position rather than primarily a desk-based supervisory role. The successful candidate must be comfortable directly supervising employees, addressing performance and safety issues in real time, and stepping into operations when required.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will help lead daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order picking, staging, shipping, workplace safety, food-safety compliance, and team performance.

The successful candidate will supervise employees, assign and monitor work, maintain inventory accuracy, enforce safety standards, resolve operational issues, and ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.

We are specifically seeking someone who can lead firmly and professionally, maintain composure in a fast-paced warehouse environment, hold employees accountable, and consistently enforce safety and operating standards.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

- Support the Plant Manager in planning and controlling daily warehouse activities.
- Oversee receiving, put-away, storage, replenishment, picking, staging, loading, and shipping.
- Assign daily work based on order volume, priorities, staffing, and operational requirements.
- Ensure orders are picked, staged, and shipped accurately and on time.
- Monitor workflow and address delays, shortages, space constraints, and other operational issues.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse.
- Maintain a regular presence on the warehouse floor and personally ensure work, safety, and operating standards are being followed.
- Provide hands-on operational support during peak periods, staffing shortages, shipment deadlines, or operational disruptions.

Team Leadership

- Lead, supervise, coach, and support warehouse employees.
- Conduct shift briefings and communicate priorities, workload, safety concerns, and expectations.
- Monitor productivity, accuracy, attendance, and completion of assigned work.
- Hold employees accountable for warehouse procedures, safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Address employee performance, behavioural, attendance, safety, and operational issues promptly and professionally.
- Remain calm and exercise sound judgment when dealing with operational pressure, employee disagreements, safety concerns, shipment issues, or competing priorities.
- Train employees on warehouse processes, equipment use, safe work practices, and food-safety requirements.
- Support onboarding, performance reviews, coaching, corrective action, and employee development.

Inventory Control

- Maintain accurate inventory through proper receiving, storage, movement, picking, and shipping practices.
- Monitor inventory transactions through WMS/ERP systems.
- Coordinate cycle counts, physical counts, investigations, and reconciliations.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective action.
- Ensure proper product identification,

location control, FIFO/FEFO, and lot/batch controls where applicable.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Sales, and other departments regarding shortages and inventory needs.

Shipping & Receiving

- Oversee accurate and timely receipt of inbound products and materials.
- Verify quantities, product condition, lot information, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate outbound order preparation, staging, loading, and shipment.
- Work with Logistics, drivers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure shipment readiness.
- Address shortages, damages, receiving/shipping discrepancies, rejected shipments, and other exceptions.

Workplace Safety

- Take an active leadership role in maintaining and enforcing warehouse safety standards throughout the shift.
- Ensure compliance with Ontario OHSA, applicable Ministry of Labour requirements, WHMIS, company safety policies, and warehouse procedures.
- Support and participate in JHSC activities, workplace inspections, safety meetings, hazard identification, recommendations, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, forklifts, reach trucks, counterbalance equipment, electric walkies, pallet jacks, loading areas, and racking systems.
- Immediately address unsafe acts, unauthorized equipment use, unsafe material handling, blocked aisles/exits, racking concerns, and other warehouse hazards.
- Conduct regular floor observations and address unsafe acts, hazards, and housekeeping concerns immediately.
- Ensure equipment inspections and safety documentation are completed.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and authorized before operating equipment.
- Ensure WHMIS requirements, including employee awareness, safe handling, labelling, and SDS accessibility, are followed where applicable.
- Promote a safety culture in which standards are consistently enforced rather than addressed only after an incident occurs.

Food Safety & Compliance

- Support compliance with CFIA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, allergen-control programs, and internal food-safety standards.
- Ensure products are handled, stored, rotated, and protected appropriately.
- Maintain required documentation and inspection readiness.
- Ensure employees follow hygiene, sanitation, and product-handling requirements.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

- Use WMS and ERP systems to monitor inventory, receiving, picking, shipping, and warehouse transactions.
- Monitor operational reports and key performance indicators.
- Provide the Plant Manager and Management with timely updates on productivity, inventory, safety, staffing, delays, and significant issues.
- Identify recurring operational problems and recommend practical improvements.
- Support improvements to warehouse workflows, SOPs, space utilization, productivity, accuracy, safety, and cost control.

Scheduling & Shift Coverage

- Assist with warehouse scheduling based on workload, staffing, receiving, and shipping requirements.
- Ensure adequate coverage during peak periods and employee absences.
- Be flexible to attend or work any shift as operationally required.

- Shift assignments may change according to business needs, production schedules, staffing, and shipping requirements.

Education

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant practical leadership experience may be considered in place of formal education.

Technical & Safety Knowledge

- Experience with WMS and/or ERP systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Valuable practical working knowledge of Ontario OHSA, WHMIS, and warehouse safety requirements.
- Experience participating in or supporting JHSC activities, workplace inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions is strongly preferred.

- Practical knowledge of safe forklift, reach-truck, counterbalance, electric-walkie, and powered-pallet-truck operation is required.
- Current or previous forklift/reach-truck/counterbalance certification is strongly preferred.
- HACCP, GMP, SQF, JHSC certification/training, Lean, or similar certifications are assets.

Skills
