Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead our logistics operations within a quick-paced manufacturing and warehouse distribution environment. In this role, you will oversee the entire shipping and receiving process, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient handling of all goods. Your leadership will drive process improvements, maintain safety standards, and foster a team-oriented atmosphere.

Responsibilities

- Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities, including order picking, packaging, loading, unloading, and inventory management using warehouse management systems such as SAP or ERP platforms.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners like third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Oversee the use of forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently for heavy lifting tasks.
- Manage a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce.
- Implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and enhance productivity through analysis of data and operational metrics.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and documentation using computer skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and specialized systems like AS400 or Warehouse Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- Communicate effectively across departments to coordinate order fulfillment schedules,



resolve issues promptly, and support customer service excellence in e-commerce or retail environments.

Qualifications

- Proven supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse management within manufacturing or distribution sectors.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while fostering collaboration.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain processes, warehouse distribution practices, and inventory control systems such as SAP or ERP platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as familiarity with Windows operating systems; experience with AS400 or similar systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for data analysis and process optimization.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are advantageous for communication with diverse teams or international partners.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with vendors, carriers, internal departments, and team members effectively.
- Knowledge of purchasing procedures, packaging standards, order picking techniques, heavy lifting safety protocols, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is highly desirable.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks and standing for extended periods during shift hours.
