Matrix HR is currently hiring Skilled Labourers with marine experience for an upcoming dredging project in Esquimalt, British Columbia. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated crew on a high-profile marine infrastructure project, with strong potential for long-term work on future dredging and marine operations.

Please note: This position is open to local candidates or those planning to relocate.

In this role, you’ll support daily operations on and around the water, working alongside experienced operators, crane crews, and marine teams in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. With a 3-weeks-on, 1-week-off schedule, this position offers a strong work-life balance along with competitive pay.

Project Details

- Location: Esquimalt, BC

- Start Date: May 2026

- Duration: Multi-year project

- Schedule: 40 hours/week, with every fourth week off (overtime as required)

- Compensation: $33.09/hour

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with dredging operations, including material handling, rigging support, and site cleanup

- Work on and around barges, floats, cranes, and clamshell equipment

- Support loading and unloading of sediment and debris

- Operate small tools and support equipment as needed





- Maintain clean and organized work areas on barges and shore-based sites

- Follow all safety, environmental, and site-specific procedures

Required Qualifications

- Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS 2015, Marine Emergency Duties (MED), or First Aid certifications (or willing to obtain prior to employment)

- Experience in marine, civil, or industrial construction is an asset

- Experience working around barges, floats, or cranes is strongly preferred

- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

- Physically fit and capable of lifting, climbing, and working on uneven surfaces

- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player

- Ability to obtain site-specific security clearance (if required)
