Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Summary: Provides a variety of bookkeeping and accounting functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform bookkeeping and payroll duties including loan tracking,

bank deposits & reconciliations, accounts payable and other client payments

· Maintain and reconcile A/R within loan portolio

· Process A/P invoices and cheques

· Answers phone and email correspondence with regard to payables and receivables

· Prepare and balances appropriate T4 and related forms

· Maintain accounting records and liase with external accountants

· Preparation of monthly & quarterly reports and financial statements

· Performs clerical and other related duties as required

Qualifications:

· Minimum 2-year experience in an Accounting role

· Completion of post-secondary degree or courses in Accounting/Bookkeeping an asset, with a preference for CGA, CMA

· Must have excellent computer skills and willingness to upgrade computer skills, as required





· Knowledge of financial services and lending businesses and/or real estate is an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to perform multi tasks in an environment where priorities can change rapidly

· Proficient with Quickbooks or Sage

Proficient with Microsoft office – Word and Excel (mandatory)

Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements

Ability to manage and operate a computerized accounting and

Loan management system

· Strong time management skills and the ability to anticipate and manage a changing workflow

· Strong oral and written communication skills
