We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team, located in Nisku, Alberta.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Full cycle accounting.
- Assisting in preparing monthly internal financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
- Preparing fixed-asset schedules.
- Auditing and monitoring the accuracy of accounting transactions.
- Assisting with accounts receivable including invoice preparation in accordance with contract terms and conditions and follow up appropriately to ensure on-time payment.
- Ensures that all required documentation, including insurance, workers compensation, statutory declarations, and lien waivers are in place.
- Assisting with accounts payable and purchase order adjustments.
- Preparing monthly GST/PST returns and researching of appropriate GST/PST treatment as required.
- Assisting with inventory management and adjustments.
- Assists with year-end financial statement preparation.
- Prepares journal entries for transactions occurring, as needed.
- Maintain the integrity of internal controls and processes.
- Provides Controller and other senior management with various ad hoc reports and analysis as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary degree (from an accredited Canadian University) in Accounting. (REQUIRED)
- Enrolled in or intention to enroll in CPA program to work toward obtaining CPA designation (REQUIRED).
- A good understanding of full-cycle accounting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team workplace.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation, with the ability to accurately prepare and enter financial information to meet deadlines and requirements.
- A strong knowledge in all Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with Sage 50 and Premier Construction Software considered an asset
- Previous experience in a similar role considered an asset
