Responsibilities
- Diligently follows all food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure guests and associates health is paramount
- Organizes and sorts utensils and dishes for cleaning
- Returns clean utensils and dishes to appropriate storage area
- Ensures the dish washer is properly cleaned and filled with water and chemicals per hotel standards
- Ensure a safe working environment through proper use of equipment, being proactive in accident prevention and diligent in eliminating safety hazards
- Informs Chef immediately of any equipment that is broken or requires maintenance
- Assists culinary team with various food preparation tasks
- Performs other tasks assigned by management, as needed
Requirements
- At least beginner command of English
- Must have flexible availability to work in the morning, afternoon and evening every day of the week – Monday to Sunday including public holidays and weekends. Shifts run from 6:30am-3pm and 4pm-12:30am,
other shift times may be required depending on business needs.
- Passion for culinary arts a great asset
- Can lift up to 40 pounds
- Diploma in culinary arts an asset
- Must be able to understand and follow WHMIS at all times
- A second language is an asset but not needed
- Must be a team player
- Can do physical work
