Position Summary De Havilland Aircraft of Canada is seeking experienced Structural Maintenance Technicians to join our Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) operation in Calgary. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of hands-on aircraft structures or related aviation maintenance experience and will perform structural inspection, repair, modification, and maintenance activities under the direction and supervision of appropriately licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs).
The Structural Maintenance Technician performs aircraft structural inspection, repair, modification, and maintenance activities on De Havilland aircraft under the direction and supervision of appropriately licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and in accordance with approved maintenance data, company procedures, and applicable Transport Canada regulations.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced unlicensed aircraft structures candidates, including individuals with hands-on sheet metal, aircraft structural repair, or aviation maintenance experience who are looking to continue developing their skills within an established MRO environment.
Key Responsibilities Perform aircraft structural inspection, repair, modification, and maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance data and company procedures.
Assist AMEs with structural maintenance and repair tasks on aircraft.
Interpret and work from aircraft maintenance manuals, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), engineering drawings, work orders, and other approved technical documentation.
Perform sheet metal fabrication, forming, drilling, riveting, fastening, and structural assembly activities.
Assist with removal and installation of aircraft structural components and assemblies.
Conduct inspections of aircraft structures to identify damage, corrosion, defects, and other conditions requiring maintenance.
Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment,
and specialized aircraft maintenance tooling safely and effectively.
Complete maintenance documentation and work records accurately and in accordance with company requirements.
Maintain proper configuration, traceability, and documentation of completed work.
Follow all applicable Transport Canada regulations, company procedures, safety requirements, and approved maintenance practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Communicate maintenance issues, discrepancies, and required follow-up to AMEs and supervisors.
Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause activities related to structural defects and maintenance issues.
Support aircraft maintenance activities across different phases of the MRO process as required.
Qualifications Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in aircraft structures, sheet metal, aircraft maintenance, or a closely related aviation workplace.
Previous experience working within an aircraft MRO/AMO environment is strongly preferred.
Experience with aircraft structural repair, sheet metal fabrication, forming, drilling, riveting, fastening, and structural assembly.
Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance documentation, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), engineering drawings, work orders, and technical instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under the direction of licensed AMEs and maintenance leadership.
Familiarity with Transport Canada regulations and aircraft maintenance practices is an asset.
AME-S apprenticeship experience or progress toward an AME-S licence is considered an asset, but is not required.
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working Conditions Work is performed in an aircraft maintenance/MRO environment.
May involve working at heights, in confined areas, and in various aircraft positions.
May require lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working with tools for extended periods.
Must be willing to work assigned shifts and overtime as required by operational demands.
