Job Title: Maintenance Service Worker II Ministry: Full or Part-Time: Full Time Permanent/Temporary/Wage: Permanent Classification: Maintenance Service Worker 2 (042MWC) Salary: $2,043.71 to $2,501.89/bi-weekly ($53,340 - $65,299 /year) The Alberta Public Service works to build a stronger province for current and future generations.

Infrastructure is responsible for delivering about one quarter of the Alberta government's Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta's population that support key social programs and services and economic development. The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta's population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

Reporting to the Maintenance Service Worker 3 (Labor Supervisor), the incumbent performs a variety of general maintenance services within Government Centre. Activities may include, but are not limited to forms part of the team which facilitates the setup and takedown for all events taking place on the entirety of the Legislature Grounds, installation and removal of the Christmas Light program, moving of furniture, assisting journeyman trades with repairs, refurbishing or renovations for inhouse operated areas, installation of a variety of exterior signage etc. Performing semi-skilled duties, including erecting signage, checking fire extinguishers, moving materials and equipment to and from work sites, and setting up roadway closures.

Gardeners with maintenance of annual flowers, trees, and shrubs Providing set-up/take-down assistance and support for special programs and events organized by various Ministries and charitable/nonprofit organizations Ensuring maintenance of tools and equipment are in valuable order to support maintenance activities Incumbent may be required to assist with preparation and maintenance of Legislature Grounds skating rink.

Develop Networks: Good knowledge of operation and maintenance requirements for building equipment and related control systems ~ A Valid Class 5 Driver's License ~ Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and moving equipment, tables, chairs, and event supplies. ~ Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow Assets: Some semi-skilled trade-related work experience Excellent knowledge in use of large maintenance equipment including but not limited to the operation of: manlifts, skid steers, ATV's Good knowledge of operation and maintenance requirements for building equipment and related control systems Ability to provide services to high profile client with minimal disruption to client activities Manlift training This position is a Permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 40, Monday to Friday (7:00 -3:30PM).
